Former fencer Nam Hyun-hee's ex-lover Jeon Cheong-jo has been indicted on fraud charges.

On March 3, the Seoul East District Prosecutors' Office's Criminal Division 2 (Deputy Chief Prosecutor Song Young-in) announced that Jeon Cheong-jo was indicted on fraud and defamation charges.

Jeon was sentenced to 12 years in prison in a first trial in February for defrauding 27 victims out of more than 3 billion won ($3 billion) by pretending to be a wealthy former chaebol extramarital affair. He is currently on trial on appeal.

Prosecutors continued their investigation after the indictment and sent him to trial on charges that he extorted 125 million won from three victims in the name of investments in unlisted stocks.

The indictment also charged him with extorting 233 million won from four male victims he met on a dating app by pretending to be a female equestrian athlete and pretending to marry them.

The indictment also charged him with pretending to be an investment expert and pretending to be the mentor of Mr. A, a famous YouTuber in the marketing field. He is accused of making false statements as if he could decide whether Mr. A's lecture would be held.
