'Rising Star' Chae Jenny Cast in 'Jeong Ega'... to Play a Korean National Theater Performer

While tvN's drama 'Jeonggaega' has been making waves with its colorful cast, including Kim Tae Ri, Shin Ye Eun, Rami Ran, and Moon Sori, newcomer Chae Jenny has also been cast and is attracting attention.

On April 4, C-Jess Studio announced, "Newly emerging newcomer Chae Jenny will appear in the tvN drama 'Jeonggaega' (written by Choi Hyo Bi, directed by Jung Soo In)."

"Jeong Nyea" is a drama based on a webtoon about Jeong Nyea, a girl who was born with a sound, entering a female gugak troupe and growing up in the 1950s, just after the Korean War.

In the drama, Chae Jenny plays Won Chul, a gugak troupe member who works with Jeong Nyea. She will play a character who doesn't like Jeong-yeon, who has a special talent for sound, but loves gugak like no one else, making her impossible to hate.

Chae Jenny, who debuted as an application advertising model in 2023, played Bang Wool in the SBS drama "Escape of the Seven," impressing with her fresh mask and stable acting skills. She also appeared as an MC on "SHARING & TOGETHER CONCERT," where she demonstrated her versatile charm by showing off her smooth hosting and proficient English skills.

We are looking forward to seeing how Chae Jenny, a newcomer who is distinguishing herself in many ways, will complete the character of Won Chul in "Jung Eiga."

"Jung Eiga" is scheduled to air later this year.
