Seoul Institute of the Arts Theater Class of '84 Reunites to Perform 'Women of Justice'

The 84th class of Seoul Institute of the Arts' theater department is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a commemorative performance.

They will perform "Women of Justice" from June 21 to 23, 2024, at the Dream Theater in Daehak-ro.

The group, which performed "A Beautiful Cause of Death" for its 30th anniversary in 2014, has planned a 40th anniversary performance this year, 10 years later.

Their return to the stage is the result of their timeless passion for theater and the friendships that have developed among them. Although most of the members have left the theater world and are following their own paths as businessmen, office workers, detectives, pastors' wives, and stay-at-home moms, they have not forgotten the theater they loved as young people and have organized another performance 40 years later.

'The Women of Justice' is a play by Albert Camus that tells the story of a group of young terrorists who attempt to assassinate the Russian revolutionary Pierre-Joseph Proudhon.

Through this play, Camus reveals the complex inner lives of human beings and explores how to find true justice. The characters are in constant conflict between ideals and reality, forcing the reader or audience to reflect on their own lives and values.

The Women of Justice is considered a modern interpretation of Albert Camus's philosophical ideas and literary talent, and is considered one of the masterpieces of modernist literature.
This work has been adapted and performed by director Ryu Sung, and this work has been re-adapted by director Jung Jaeho to make the audience more sympathetic.
