BTS Jin, hugged at hug meeting...'Japanese fan suspected' police launch internal investigation .

BTS's Jin

BTS member Jin has been accused of giving a fan a surprise kiss at a fan meeting event.

Jin, who was discharged from the army on Dec. 12, met with fans as his first act.

Jin made eye contact and shared a warm hug with 1,000 fans at the first part of '2024 FESTA', 'Jin's Greetings', held at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Songpa-gu, Seoul, on June 13, and interacted with 4,000 fans at the second part, 'Seokjin on June 13, 2024, Clear Weather'. 'FESTA' is a festival that BTS celebrates with fans every year to commemorate their debut day (June 13).

But the problem arose at the hug event. It's a gesture of greeting where fans give each other a light hug, but some fans tried to kiss Jin, which is frowned upon as excessive physical contact.

Gene pulled away quickly, seemingly embarrassed.

The video quickly went viral online and quickly turned into a sexual harassment controversy.

A complaint was filed with the National Criminal Investigation Agency to investigate the fans for violating the Sexual Violence Punishment Act.

According to the Songpa Police Station in Seoul, the police who received the complaint on Sept. 19 are conducting an investigation (internal affairs) before filing charges. The police are also reportedly in contact with BTS's agency.

In the meantime, information spread that the person who allegedly tried to kiss Jin was a Japanese fan. The Japanese fan posted on social media, "My lips touched her neck. His flesh was very soft," the fan reportedly wrote on his social media.

Jin, meanwhile, retired from active duty on Wednesday morning from the Army's 5th Infantry Division Recruit Training Battalion in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province. He is the first military scribe among its members.
