Hong Kwang-ho buys 11 billion for Banpo luxury penthouse...borrows 4.4 billion in wife's name

Musical actor Hong Kwang-ho, 42, has reportedly purchased a luxury penthouse in Seoul for 11 billion won.

According to BizKorea on Dec. 25, Hong Kwang-ho purchased a penthouse in Acro River Park in Banpo-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, for 11 billion won.

The penthouse has a private area of 234.8 square meters (71 pyeong) and a supply area of 313.8 square meters (95 pyeong). It reportedly consists of five rooms and three bathrooms.

According to the media, Hong Kwang-ho took out a 4.4 billion won real estate mortgage in the name of his wife, actress Kang Ye-sol (real name Lim Il-kyu), to purchase Acre River Park. As the maximum bond amount is usually set at 110 to 120 percent of the loan amount, industry insiders believe that Hong and his wife paid for the apartment with 7 billion won in cash on hand.

Hong Kwang-ho made his debut in 2002 in the musical Empress of Fame. Since then, he has starred in "The Phantom of the Opera," "Dr. Zhivago," "Notre Dame de Paris," "Jekyll and Hyde," "Death Note," and more. Most recently, she starred in Il Tenore.

His wife is actress Kang Ye-sol, who is one year younger than him. They married in 2017 and have a daughter together.
