'Brave Detectives 3' real-life version of 'Death Note'... Four people killed for 2500 won?

In "Brave Detectives 3," the hunt for evil people who committed brutal crimes unfolded.

On the 43rd episode of TeeCast E-channel's "Brave Detectives 3" (directed by Lee Ji-seon) broadcast on the 28th, Inspector Lee Yong-woon of the female juvenile division of the Hwaseong West Police Station, Detective Yoo Tae-kwon, head of the intelligent crime investigation team of the Iksan Police Station, and Detective Kim Kwon-ik of the Seongdong Police Station appeared and presented their investigation diaries.

The first case began with a report of a stabbing at a local health center. One of the victims was conscious, but the other was dead. A fight broke out inside the shop, and two men who had lost money argued over 2,500 won ($2,500) in "dog pyeong." Chen, a man in his 50s, came out of the kitchen with a dog-slaughtering knife and brandished it.

Some time later, Chen went on another killing spree. He visited a bar owner with whom he had had a falling out in the past. A note was found in Chen's home that made investigators nervous. After he was released from prison, he posed as a monk and traveled from temple to temple to find lodging, and his "death notes" were filled with nasty comments about people he met. There were also the names of his three victims. Chen's rampage continued. He also killed a female bodhisattva and another person with whom he had a dispute at the temple where he was staying.

In three days, Chen killed four people and wounded one. In his notebook, he noted a hanbok shop owner who had shown him kindness. After the actual murders, Chen visited the hanbok shop and found the owner again, and detectives quickly rushed to the scene and arrested him. They were shocked to find a dog butcher knife in his chest pocket. Mr. Chen admitted to the crime, but cursed, saying, "The dead are dead." He was sentenced to death. He was sentenced to death.

The second case began when a car that had committed a series of hit-and-runs in central Seoul was found burned in the parking lot of a villa. The trunk was opened to reveal the naked, mutilated body of a woman. The victim was a woman in her 30s who lived outside of Seoul, and the car belonged to her.

In the car, they found a receipt for cosmetics she had purchased at a hypermarket. The investigation team identified a man as a possible suspect through CCTV footage from the villa and the hypermarket, the final crime scene. His fingerprints were found on the front door of the villa. He was a 22-time convicted felon who had been in prison since the age of 16 and was wanted for similar crimes in other parts of the country before the incident. He was Kim Il-gon, the man responsible for the "trunk murders" that shocked South Korea.

On the third day of the manhunt, Kim broke into a veterinary clinic and went on a rampage with a knife, demanding to be given euthanasia drugs. When he was arrested, he sparked outrage when he told reporters, "I didn't do anything wrong, I should live longer." Kim Il-gon was fined for assault after an altercation with a man in his 20s. He claimed to have kidnapped the victim to lure a man in his 20s who was running a nightclub, and when the woman resisted and tried to run away, he committed murder.

A note with the names of 28 people was found on him when he was arrested. They included men in their 20s, judges who had sentenced them to prison, and doctors who had been unkind to them. Kim Il-gon's killer, who said to himself, "These people should die," every time he had a chance, was sentenced to life in prison.

"Brave Detectives 3" airs every Friday night at 8:40 p.m.
