Boy Next Door "Wore the Right Clothes"... Comeback with Stronger Team Power .

The group BOYNEXTDOOR combined their individual charms with team power to capture the innocent charm of first love in music.

On the afternoon of the 15th, a showcase for BOYNEXTDOOR's mini second album "HOW?" was held at Yes24 Live Hall. Host Shin A-Young and Boy Next Door members Sungho, Liu, Myungjaehyun, TaeSan, Leehan, and Unhak were in attendance.

The second mini album "HOW?" is the culmination of the trilogy of their first love story. Focusing on various situations and emotions between meeting and breaking up, Lee Han introduced, "If you've ever had your first love, there are many things you can relate to."

◆The fun and chubby 'kitschcore' of the boys next door

The name "kitschcore," a combination of "kitsch" and "normcore," which means natural cool, foreshadows the witty charm of Boy Next Door, which combines the friendliness of the boys next door with a kitschy sensibility.

The title track "Earth, Wind & Fire" is the song that best captures the kitschcore sensibility. Unhak says, "I think kitsch can make you feel distant, but we tried to make it friendly and witty with our colors. I think it was well incorporated into the music video and concept photos."

The quirky background and synthesis in the music video, the members' facial expressions, the playful choreography, and the stage equipment all add to the charm of Boy Next Door's 'kitschcore' style.

The dynamic performance is also one of them. Unhak says, "The tempo of the song is very fast. We practiced a lot of details to make the choreography dense accordingly," said Unhak. Lee Han added, "I think viewers will enjoy it if we perform it live on a music broadcast. I hope you can feel our team power."

◆Handmade team colors

On this album, Myung Jaehyun, TaeSan, Unhak, and others participated in writing and composing the songs, capturing the deeper colors of Boy Next Door. About the title track, "Earth, Wind & Fire," Liu said, "It's an addictive song that expresses the frustrating feelings of love that doesn't go as planned with our kitschy charm."

Myungjaehyun continued, "When we were working on the title track, we wanted to express the protagonist as confident and cool, but unable to succeed in love." He explained, "We wanted to interpret the members' styles well, and I was inspired by the movie 'Kingsman' and tried to incorporate gentleness. TaeSan added, "I wrote and composed Liu's part, and I thought it would be nice if Liu's part had a cool pop star-like feel. It would be fun to see how each member portrayed a cool person."

Specifically, Myung Jaehyun talked about working on "Earth, Wind & Fire," saying, "We talked about what kind of story we wanted to tell and what kind of genre would be appropriate to tell it with our sensibilities. The song that captured and understood that well was born, so I think it can be said that we participated a lot in the composition."

◆Musical growth created by ourselves
<@3>
Boy Next Door has surpassed 570,000 pre-orders for the album, an increase of nearly 40% from the final pre-orders (414,451) for their previous mini album. In addition to the numerical growth, the album is also expected to showcase the members' musical growth. Sungho said, "This album was made with a lot of musical concerns shared by all of us," adding, "It feels like a comeback with the right clothes. I hope it will be an album that blossoms with our hard work and efforts."

Taesan said, "We are all most grateful for this record. "We are most grateful to all of us for achieving this record, and we are determined to be a team that takes responsibility for our music and performances. "The charm of our team is our strength and charm is the stage and musical participation that we create ourselves. Being able to put our own personalities into our music and add that to our team's charm is what makes us feel 'grown up'." Liu replied, "We usually discuss every little detail, but this time, they trusted us to make it come out well. I think our colors were visible then. Sunghan also said, "I showcase a four-step high note in the title track. I raise the note with one letter, 'u,' and the difficulty varies depending on the shape of my mouth. I studied and practiced a lot, and I think I was able to achieve the growth I have now thanks to that process."

Meanwhile, Boy Next Door will release their mini second album "HOW?" on various music sites at 6 p.m. today and continue their activities with the title track "Earth, Wind & Fire."
