"Cancel IU's concert" complaint appeared on Son Heung-min's Sangam Grass pointing out...

A complaint has been filed to cancel singer IU's concert to protect the turf at Seoul's Sangam World Cup Stadium.

On Oct. 11, the complainant, A, who identified himself as a fan of Son Heung-min, posted a screen capture of the completed complaint on an online community, saying, "I strongly urge Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon to immediately cancel the upcoming IU concert in order to maintain the turf at the World Cup Stadium until the '2026 FIFA North and Central America World Cup 3rd Qualifying Match' between South Korea and Iraq on Oct. 15." He also shared the progress of the complaint, saying, "It is currently assigned to the Sports Policy Division of the Seoul Metropolitan Government's Department of Tourism and Sports."

"It is inevitable that the condition of the turf will deteriorate further as a large number of people will gather at the venue on the day of the IU concert," A wrote, "As the '2026 FIFA North and Central America World Cup 3rd Qualifier' match between South Korea and Iraq is scheduled to be held at Sangam World Cup Stadium on October 15, it is judged that full efforts should be made to manage the turf for the remaining period."

In addition, "According to Article 5.3 (Restriction of Use Permit) of the Ordinance on the Installation and Operation of Seoul Metropolitan Sports Facilities, the use of sports facilities may not be permitted or canceled when any of the following items apply," it said, "No. 2, 'When it is recognized that the management of the facility is hindered,' and No. 4, 'When the mayor deems it necessary.

IU's concert 'IU HEREH WORLD TOUR CONCERT ENCORE : THE WINNING' is currently scheduled to be held at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on the 21st and 22nd. With not enough time for the turf to recover after the concert, the national soccer team is scheduled to play against Iraq on the 15th of next month.

The condition of the turf at the Seoul World Cup Stadium has been criticized during the Palestine match on the 5th. The condition of the turf was highlighted on the broadcast screen. <"We have a lot of players with good skills, but from the fans' point of view, we had difficulty controlling the ball and dribbling today. I hope those things will be improved as soon as possible," said Son Heung-min after the match against Palestine.

Later, after the match against Oman at the Sultan Qaboos Stadium in Muscat, Oman, the turf issue came up again. "First of all, I think the ground conditions were so good that the players were more confident when playing," Son said, adding, "I hope this aspect can be improved at home."
