Kim Dong-wook, Go Ah-sung Confirmed as Hosts of 2024 Buil Film Awards

Actors Kim Dong-wook and Go Ah-sung will host the 2024 Buil Film Awards, Korea's first film award with a long history and tradition.

Kim Dong-wook and Go Ah-sung will take the stage at the 2024 Buil Film Awards on October 3 at Signiel Busan in Haeundae-gu, Busan. The duo will be the first to walk the red carpet this year before the main ceremony to kick off the awards season.

The Chungmuro-centric duo has long been the face of Korean cinema. They have led the revival of Korean cinema alongside some of the country's leading directors and producers, and have established themselves as the undisputed leading actors of Chungmuro. They have continued to challenge and expand their roles without limiting themselves to genres and characters, and have become beloved by the public for their tailor-made performances. They also have the commonality of being actors who have been recognized for both their acting skills and box office power as the lead actors of "10 million movies."

Dong-wook made his debut in 2004 with the film "Sunhyeon."

He appeared in films such as "The National Anthem," "Sweet Lie," "Sin and Punishment with God," "Sin and Punishment with God," "Love and Marriage," the drama "Coffee Prince No. 1," "Self-Luminous Office," "Special Labor Inspector Jo Jang-pung," "By chance, I met you," and "Beneficial Fraud. In particular, he played the lead role in director Kim Yong-hwa's "With God" series, delivering an absorbing performance that helped make both films 10 million movies.He is set to showcase his new look once again by starring in Disney Plus' "Kang Mae-gang," which will be released on November 11.

Go Ah-sung, who started his entertainment career as an advertising model in 1999, quickly became a blue-chip actor with his bold performance in his first film "Monster" in 2006. Since then, he has continued to expand his character and take on acting challenges in films such as "Snowpiercer," "A Graceful Lie," "The Office," "The King," "Hangover: The Story of Yoo Yoo-soon," "Samjin Group English TOEIC Class," and seasons 1 and 2 of the dramas "Life on Mars" and "Tracer. She is also known for her roles in the works of leading Chungmuro directors such as Bong Joon-ho, Han Jae-rim, and Lee Han. Recently, he met the public in the film "I Hate Korea" and is currently filming "Pavane" directed by Lee Jong-pil.

The 33rd Buil Film Awards will be held on October 3 at 5 p.m. at the Busan Grand Ballroom of Middle East Signiel Busan in Haeundae-gu, Busan. The winners of 16 categories, including the Best Film Award, will be revealed at the ceremony. After the ceremony, filmmakers who have led the development of Korean cinema will gather together for an 'after party'. The ceremony will be broadcast live on Naver TV, YouTube, and more.
