'Cheongdam-dong Stock Rich' Lee Hee-jin Marries Girl Group Former...Gifts 100 Million Check

It was later reported that Lee Hee-jin, the "Cheongdam-dong stock tycoon" who served a prison sentence for stock fraud and other charges, and Ms. A, a former member of girl group LiveHigh, got married.

According to a Sunday news report on Dec. 28, Lee Hee-jin and A, a former girl group member, became a married couple on Dec. 25, 2021, at a ceremony at a hotel in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

After being released from prison, Lee Hee-jin reportedly held a wedding ceremony when Ms. A became pregnant. Mr. A reportedly shared a proposal letter from Lee Hee-jin on social media, a check for $100 million, and an expensive luxury watch.

The wedding was performed by singer V.O.S and officiated by broadcaster Park Sung Kwang. Park Sung-kwang told a media outlet that he was asked by an acquaintance to officiate the wedding and that he has no personal relationship with Lee Hee-jin.

Lee Hee-jin had previously flaunted her wealth on various broadcasts, introducing herself as a "Cheongdamdong stock rich person. However, in 2016, she was arrested for stock fraud and sentenced to three and a half years in prison and fined 10 billion won. He was released from prison in March 2020.

Later, Lee was indicted in October last year for allegedly manipulating the price of coins and selling them at their highs to make a total of 89.7 billion won. She is currently being held on bail and is facing trial.
