'Hive Beauty Girl Group' Cats Eye Releases First Single 'Debut' Today (28th)

Hive and Geffen Records' global girl group KATSEYE released their first single "Debut" today (28th) at 1:00 p.m. KST.

The new song marks the beginning of the group's journey after being selected through the audition program "The Debut: Dream Academy," which attracted 120,000 applicants from around the world.

"Debut" is characterized by its upbeat rhythm and addictive melody. Songs such as 'Love me once I know you'll love me twice' and 'I don't need nobody tryna tell me how to run it' are bold and confident. The charming vocals and personalities of the six members (Daniela, Lara, Manon, Megan, Sophia, and Yoonchae) make for a lively and powerful 'summer song'.

The song was produced by Ryan Tedder, who has collaborated with top musicians such as Beyonce, Maroon 5, and Adele, and an army of producers including Grant Boutin, Tyler Spry, and Omer Fedi.

The music video was directed by Gregory Ohrel, whose previous music videos include Selena Gomez's "Love On" and Jain's "Makeba.

The music video for "Debut" captures KATSEYE's sassy and adorable charm. They freely move in and out of the school, breaking out of school and performing in the middle of the road in the middle of traffic, revealing the identity of KATSEYE, which aims to represent the voice of a new era and generation.

The dynamic and characteristic point choreography, such as using kicks and hands to change poses, also attracts the viewer's attention. Executive Creator Sungdeuk Sohn led the entire 'Debut' performance.

KATSEYE continues its active activities with the announcement of 'Debut'. They will be appearing at KCON LA 2024 from July 26-28 to meet global music fans, and a Netflix documentary series about their rise, Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE, will be released this summer.
