BTS "No contact with Danworld, no sabotage is true... Legal response to malicious posts"

BIGHIT Music has shared the status of its legal response to the infringement of the rights and interests of the group BTS.

On the 28th, BIGHIT Music announced on Weverse, "We are regularly taking legal action against the authors of malicious posts such as defamation, insults, sexual harassment, spreading falsehoods, and malicious slander against BTS. We would like to inform you of our major progress in this regard."

The company continued, "This quarter, we filed a number of complaints with law enforcement agencies based on evidence of insults, defamation, and other acts that violate the rights and interests of our artists, collected through fan reports and our own monitoring. In particular, we would like to reiterate that the various malicious rumors surrounding our artists are untrue, as we informed you in separate announcements in April and May."

"We would like to clarify once again that there is no contact or connection between us and our artists, BTS and Danworld. Rumors that we have any kind of relationship with the artist, including the lyrics of BTS songs, are clearly false." "We have already taken action by sending a letter to Global Cyber University in February to stop the unauthorized use of BTS intellectual property rights. In addition, we would like to clarify that the allegations of illegal marketing such as music hoarding are also untrue and completely unrelated to the artist."

Big Hit Music also said, "In addition to the authors of the malicious posts, we are also taking separate legal action against those who violated the artist's privacy, and we are also pursuing civil and criminal proceedings against cyber wreckers such as Talduk Detention Center."

Here is the full statement

Hello,

Big Hit Music:

We regularly take legal action against those who post defamatory, insulting, sexual harassment, falsehoods, and malicious slander against BTS. Here are some of the key developments:

This quarter, we filed a number of complaints with law enforcement agencies after gathering evidence of insults, defamation, and other acts that violate the rights and interests of our artists, both through fan reports and our own monitoring.

As we announced in separate announcements in April and May, we would like to reiterate that the various malicious rumors surrounding our artists are untrue. We continue to gather evidence and have filed additional charges against those who have engaged in systematic rumor-mongering in this regard.

We would like to clarify that there is no contact or connection between our company and our artists, BTS and Danworld. Rumors that we have any kind of relationship with our artists, including the lyrics of BTS songs, are clearly false. After we became aware of Danworld's illegal use of our IP through this incident, we immediately requested Danworld to remove it and received a promise that it will not happen again. If similar issues arise in the future, we plan to take strong legal action in line with our principles and philosophy of protecting artists' IP. In February, we have already taken action by sending a letter to Global Cyber University to stop unauthorized use of BTS's intellectual property rights. We would also like to clarify that the allegations of illegal marketing, such as stockpiling music, are untrue and completely unrelated to the artist.

In addition to the authors of malicious posts, we are also taking separate legal action against those who infringed on the artist's privacy, and we are also pursuing civil and criminal proceedings against cyber wreckers such as Talduk Detention Center.

We sued TALDUC in 2022 for defamation and business interference and received a decision to suspend the investigation, but as a result of our active request to resume the investigation, including securing TALDUC's personal information and providing it to the investigative agency, the investigation has been resumed and is currently underway. In addition, a civil lawsuit was filed earlier this year claiming damages for illegal acts such as defamation by the Talduk camp, and is scheduled to go to trial soon.

In addition, a number of suspects in the last complaint have been transferred to the prosecution, and we are awaiting the outcome of the criminal disposition of the suspects. We will continue to take strong legal action, even if it takes some time for the suspects to be disposed of.

Currently, we are continuing to collect, report, and legally respond to malicious posts against BTS members who are currently fulfilling their military service obligations. We will continue to take strong and strict action against the suspected perpetrators without any settlements or good behavior.

We look forward to your active reporting through the Big Hit Music legal response account.

We are always grateful for your love and dedication to BTS. BIGHIT Music will continue to strive to protect the rights and interests of our artists.

Thank you.
