ENHYPEN releases remake of BTS's "I NEED U" today

The group ENHYPEN has re-recorded the hit song "I NEED U" by Hive Labels' presidential ship, BTS.

According to Billboard, ENHYPEN (Jungwon, HeeSeung, J, Jake, SungHoon, Sunwoo, and Nicky) will release the remake of "I NEED U - Spotify Singles" through the "Spotify Singles" program at 1 p.m. on the 16th. "Spotify Singles" is Spotify's exclusive program that allows artists to re-record their own songs, cover other artists' songs, or record new songs.

"I NEED U" is the title track of BTS's third mini album "Hwayang Yeonhwa pt.1," which was released in 2015. It's an electro-hip-hop song with an urban style, and it became a huge hit because of its desperate attempts to hold on to a love that is falling toward the end. N-Hyphen reinterpreted the song with their own sensibility. Instead of the electronic synth sound of the original song, they will present a sweet version of the song with soothing acoustic instruments. In addition, N-HYPHEN will add a performance that authentically conveys the emotion of the lyrics, multiplying the charm of the song.

ENHYPEN remake of "I NEED U - Spotify Singles" was created to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Spotify's first K-pop editorial playlist, K-Pop ON! Three K-Pop artists will be releasing a series of Spotify Singles tracks under the theme of "My First K-Pop Crush," with N-HYPHEN being the first to join the series.

Explaining why they chose "I NEED U" from BTS, one of their favorite K-pop artists, they said, "We want to convey our different charm through our lyrical music and performance. "It's meaningful to be able to tell the story of our first K-pop love with a song that all of our members love. We heard that it was the first time that producer Bang Si Hyuk approved the arrangement of a BTS song, and we are honored that he participated in the arrangement himself."

ENHYPEN has a strong presence on Spotify with solid global popularity. Their song "FEVER" from their mini album "BORDER : CARNIVAL" has over 300 million plays, and the combined total of all their songs has reached 2.87 billion plays as of December 12th. The average daily playback of N-Hyphen songs, which was 2.1 million as of July last year, has also recently increased to 2.46 million.

In addition to this, ENHYPEN will be holding an encore performance, "ENHYPEN WORLD TOUR 'FATE PLUS' IN SEOUL," at KSPO DOME in Songpa-gu, Seoul on July 23-25.
