'Seojin's Neighborhood 2' 'Passed' Departure Over Aristocrat Sales Controversy

Na Young-seok PD's "Seo Jin-ne's 2" opened with 6.9% viewership. The ratings for Kim Tae Ho PD's new drama "My name is Gabriel" were also higher. It will be interesting to see if "Seojin's Neighborhood 2," which was criticized for its "aristocratic business" in the previous season, will be able to maintain a different look.

The first episode of tvN's "Seo Jin Neighbor 2," which premiered on the 28th of last month, shows the opening and operation of the first Gomtang restaurant in Iceland. Following the last season, Lee Seo Jin, Jung Yoo Jung Mi, Park Seo Joon, Choi Woo Sik, and Go Kom Si joined as new interns.

In the first broadcast, the first meeting with Go Kom Si, the new youngest member of "Seo Jin's Neighborhood 2," menu selection, and training were broadcast.

In particular, new changes were noticeable. In addition to Lee Seo-jin, Jung Jeong-mi, Park Seo-joon, and Choi Woo-sik were promoted to the position of "Chef of the Day" and given the authority to take turns in the kitchen. Their faces and photos of their signature menu items were hung outside the restaurant to give them a sense of responsibility.

Ko Go-si, who has experience in social life, also stood out. Having worked in various jobs before her debut, including a meat restaurant, a cafe, and a wedding planner, she was very proactive in preparing for the opening. As she thought about the whole job, she did everything from preparing the ingredients to assisting, and Lee Seo-jin was impressed, saying, "She's doing a lot of work," and Choi Woo-sik was surprised, saying, "It looks like there are two interns."

The previous season, Seo Jin's was criticized for its hard work, frequent breaks, and complaints. Of course, it's not their main job, but they had to show a genuine side to fit the purpose of running a restaurant. It even became a controversy of 'aristocratic business'.

As if conscious of this, this season's "Chef of the Day" setting was added to instill a sense of ownership, and Ko Goo-si, who has a career in social life, joined as the youngest. Their sincere immersion in running the restaurant led to a 6.9% viewership rating. It also surpassed the ratings of PD Kim Tae-ho's new drama 'My name is Gabriel', which was broadcast at the same time, by 1.1%.

'Seo Jin-ne's 2' is off to a good start. The online community is also mostly positive about the attitude of the cast in this season. It will be interesting to see if it can completely erase the nobleman sales controversy and reap the beauty of Yoojong.
