Yang Hyun-seok "Baby Monster Debut Confirmed for April 1st, Many Events"

YG Entertainment (YG) has changed the official debut date of girl group Baby Monster to April 1.

In an introduction video for Baby Monster's first mini album posted on YG's official blog on April 18, YG executive producer Yang Hyun Suk said, "I viewed Baby Monster's official debut as a mini album." "We are planning to start broadcasting activities with the release of the mini-album on April 1, and we are also thinking about various events and performances to visit fans in person," he added.

Previously, Baby Monster released their debut single "BATTER UP" last November. The group released the single with a six-member lineup (Luka, Parita, Asa, Rami, Laura, and Chiquita), excluding AHYUN, who withdrew from the debut group due to health issues. This time, the group will release the mini album as a full seven-member group with AHYUN back. YG chose to release the mini album on the same day as Baby Monster's official debut.

Baby Monster will be featuring the hip-hop genre song "SHEESH" as the album's title track. "While 'Barred Up' was a bright, wholesome, and healthy image, 'SHEESH' is a darker concept," explains executive producer Yang. "The chorus is powerful, so I think people will sing along to it a lot. The choreography is also very fun and addictive," he added.

One of the songs on the album, "LIKE THAT," was written by pop star Charlie Puth for Baby Monster. "We received a great gift from an artist that I love and the members love," said Yang, "I think you guys will love it when you hear it."
