'Island 2: N/A' Goes on Hiatus... Special 2-Week Special Edition
Part 1 of "I-LAND2: N/a," a collaboration between Mnet and TEDDY and THE BLACK LABEL, ended on Thursday, May 23, with the final six Part 2 contestants confirmed. After starting with 24 contestants, only 12 will now compete for the chance to make their debut in Part 2.
The show, which has entered a turning point in its upward curve of global buzz, will return on Thursday, May 30 at 8:50 p.m. with an unreleased extended edition special. Featuring unreleased footage from the competition between Ireland and the ground, the show will continue the journey of Part 1 by showcasing a diverse group of candidates with endless possibilities.
In addition, on Thursday, June 6 at 8:50pm, the special will reveal the full list of the 12 Part 2 contestants, including the six additional protagonists who will be joining them in Part 2. With the exception of Mai, Yoo SaRang, Yoon JiYoon, Jung SeBi, Choi JungEun, and Fuko, who won the final gateway to Part 2 by winning the 1-on-1 Position Battle, the remaining six will have their fate decided by the global audience in the first round of SAVE votes. A total of 14 contestants are currently awaiting the results of the voting, including Bang Bo Min, who topped the overall score in Part 1.
The special broadcast of the announcement of the 12 contestants in Part 2 will be broadcast on Mnet and via global live streaming. The first round of SAVE voting, which began immediately after the conclusion of Part 1, will run until the 30th of this month on the official voting app Mnet Plus.
