Jimin releases preview track and track video for solo 2nd album

BTS's Jimin has released his second solo album, "Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Rokko)," simultaneously worldwide.

On July 28 at 1 p.m. KST, the music and track video for "Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Rocco)" from Jimin's new album "MUSE" were released on various music sites and Hive Labels' YouTube channel.

The song was inspired by the Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" album, and Jimin had a lot of fun creating it during the making of his previous album, "FACE," referring to the group of writers he worked with as the "Smeraldo Garden Marching Band. Jimin's fictional team and the inspiration from the Beatles album led to the creation of 'Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Rocco)'.

"Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Rocco)" is based on a "marching band" that plays while marching. It features an energetic bounce, rhythm, and dynamic atmosphere from start to finish with a big band (large orchestra) sound and hip-hop genre. The upbeat melody makes the listener's shoulders bounce, and the innocent lyrics stimulate the heart. Jimin's refreshing vocals add to the enjoyment of listening to the song. The "Yeonyeum Boys and Girls Choir," who participated in the fan song "Closer Than This" released in December last year, create a fantastic harmony with Jimin and Rokko. Their unadorned, clear voices sound like Cupid's whispers, and they play a big role in enhancing the song's loving feel.

The lyrical theme of the song is 'confession'. Jimin drew inspiration from the fictional flower 'Smeraldo', whose flower name means 'unexpressed sincerity', to create a sweet song about confessing on behalf of those who cannot express their feelings and finding love.

Smeraldo

The video for the track unfolds like a musical. It begins with Jimin and producers Pdogg, GHSTLOOP, and EVAN introducing themselves as the fictional team Smeraldo Garden Marching Band. Jimin as the band's frontman and his fellow musicians perform a collaborative scene. The two shots of Rokko and Jimin, who also participated in the feature, have a playful energy that will make you laugh out loud.

Later, Jimin's performance with the children and dancers reminds me of my childhood playground moments. Jimin's large-scale military dance scene in the second half of the movie is awe-inspiring. Dressed in a black suit, he delivers a pleasant excitement with his charming voice and playful performance from the beginning to the end of the track's video. His expressive ability to make every concept his own color makes this another great performance.

Jimin, who announced the start of 'MUSE' with the pre-release song, will release the entire album on July 19th. Prior to this, concept photos and clips of the 'SERENADE' version will be released on July 7, and on July 14, a highlight medley will be unveiled to give a glimpse into the atmosphere of 'MUSE'.
