BTS member Jin was discharged from the military on Wednesday after 18 months of service.

After

Jin, who was the first of the BTS members to enlist in the military on Dec. 13, 2022, will be discharged on Dec. 12 after serving for about a year and a half. Jin has been serving as an assistant instructor at the 5th Army Recruit Training Center in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province.

Jin will hit the ground running. The day after his discharge, he plans to attend the "2024 FESTA" offline event in Seoul's Songpa-gu neighborhood on Sept. 13, the day of his debut. FESTA is a festival that BTS celebrates with fans every year to commemorate their debut date.

FESTA

Jin is especially excited because he will be hosting a hug party for 1,000 people. According to the agency, the fan event was organized at Jin's suggestion, as he wanted to spend meaningful time with fans in close proximity.

The outside of the agency's Hive headquarters building in Yongsan, Seoul, will be wrapped with the phrase "Ah.Po.Bang.Po (Ami Forever BTS Forever). The idea of wrapping the building and the phrase is also meaningful because it was created by the members of BTS and the company.

Jin's departure was followed by J-Hope's departure in October, more than four months later. RM, V, Jimin, and Jungkook will complete their military service next June. Finally, Suga, who is the only member serving as a social service worker, will be demobilized at the end of June next year.
