YG's Yang Hyun Suk reveals Baby Monster's 2024 activity plan

YG Announcement" on its official blog on January 1, 2024 at 0:00. After announcing the final members of YG's next girl group, Baby Monster, in May, executive producer Yang Hyun-seok made an official appearance to explain the group's future plans.

Yang has been overseeing Baby Monster's training and post-debut process. He said, "In the case of 2NE1 and BLACKPINK, most of them debuted in their 20s, so I've been treating them like junior singers. As for Baby Monster, their youngest member, Chiquita, is now 14 years old and a year older than my daughter," he laughed, adding, "I feel like I'm taking care of them more like my daughter rather than treating them as affiliated singers." He said that he is working hard for them with the same sincerity as a parent.

With the full support of YG Entertainment and executive producer Yang Hyun Suk, Baby Monster will release their second new song on February 1. The title is "Stuck In The Middle. "It's a song that YG has never released before," Yang said, adding, "The members' outstanding vocals and unique tones make it a very beautiful song that makes you close your eyes and concentrate so hard that you don't want to miss a single breath."

Like Yang's introduction, the comeback is expected to be a glimpse into another side of Baby Monster's charm. This is because they chose a song that is 180 degrees different from their debut song "BATTER UP" in the hip-hop genre. The group intends to grow as an artist-type group that crosses various genres through music that can showcase their musical spectrum.

Following the release of "Stuck In The Middle," Yang also shared the news of Baby Monster's first mini album in April. This is YG's unconventional way of promoting the album, which is a departure from their previous style and adds a sense of speed. After officially debuting in late November, YG's tight two-month roadmap of releasing a new song with a musical twist the following February and returning with their first mini album in April has been unveiled. It is expected that many global fans will respond to the vigorous activities of the 'K-pop game changer' Baby Monster.

BABYMONSTER debuted on November 27 with their first digital single "BATTER UP". The song's music video broke the record for the most views in 24 hours for a K-pop debut, and then went on to break the record for the fastest debut for a K-pop group by reaching 50 million views (4 days) and 100 million views (18 days). Despite being a rookie for more than a month after their debut, the group has garnered more than 4 million YouTube subscribers.
