[KOREA STAR Journal reporter Chris] Hyein, who is set to make a comeback in May, has taken a break from her activities due to health issues.

On the afternoon of the 10th, agency ADORE announced on the fan communication platform Foning, "We have some unfortunate news regarding NewJeans member Hyein. Hyein has been injured during practice and will be suspending her schedule for the time being."

"Hyein experienced pain in the back of her foot during practice and went to the hospital for a detailed examination," the statement continued, "The examination revealed a microfracture and the medical staff advised that she should minimize her movements until she recovers."

As a result, Hyein plans to focus on treatment and recovery for the time being. "We will do our best to help her resume her activities in a healthy way," the agency said.

Meanwhile, NewJeans is scheduled to make a comeback on May 24th.
