Newjeans 'Get Up' to be the 5th Highest Selling K-Pop Album in U.S. CD Sales in 2023

Newzine was ranked in the "Top 5" of CD sales in the United States last year, confirming its unrivaled global popularity.

According to the 2023 annual report released by music and entertainment industry data research firm Luminate on March 10 (local time), the group's second EP "Get Up" sold 332,000 physical CDs in the United States, ranking fifth on the "U.S. Top CD Album Sales" list. This is the highest ranking for a K-pop female artist, and the second highest for a female artist overall, behind Taylor Swift's "1989 (Taylor's Version)" at No. 1.

NUJINS took the North American market by storm in 2023. With "Get Up," they became the first K-pop group to debut at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 main album chart (August 5, 2023) in the shortest period of time (one year). With the album's 24 consecutive weeks on the chart, NUJINS continues its record-breaking streak as the longest-running K-pop group of the fourth generation. NUJINS has also had five songs ("OMG," "Ditto," "Super Shy," "ETA," and "Cool With You") on Billboard's main Hot 100 chart in the last year alone, demonstrating their unparalleled power as rookies.

Based on these achievements, NUJINS won "Top Global K-pop Artist" at the Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs), one of the three major music awards in the United States, and became the first K-pop girl group to perform at the event. At the end of the year, the group became the first K-pop girl group to perform on ABC's biggest New Year's Eve special, "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2024," and continued its meteoric rise.
