NewJeans hits 100 million Spotify streams across all three albums

[KOREA STAR Journal reporter Chris] NewJeans has reached the billion-streaming mark on Spotify with all songs from its three albums. According to the world's largest music streaming platform Spotify on Tuesday, NewJeans' (Minzy, Hani, Daniel, Harin, and Hyein) second EP "Get Up" and the song of the same name have been played a total of 116,371 times as of the past eight days. Released in July last year, "Get Up" is a kind of interlude song that connects the other songs on the album. Despite its short length of about 36 seconds, the song was praised for its dreamy tone and delicate expression of the members of NewJeans, and after being loved steadily, it joined the ranks of Spotify's billion streams. This brings the group's total to 12 billion-streamed songs, including four from their debut album New Jeans, two from their single OMG, and six from their second EP Get Up. "OMG" has been played more than 600 million times, "Ditto" and "Hype Boy" have been played more than 500 million times, "Super Shy" has been played more than 400 million times, "Attention" has been played more than 300 million times, "Cookie," "New Jeans," and "ETA" have been played more than 200 million times, and "Hurt," "Cool With You," "ASAP," and "Get Up" have been played more than 100 million times. All of NewJeans songs have been streamed more than 4 billion times on Spotify combined. Given that NewJeans songs, both old and new, have been critically acclaimed along with their "long-lasting popularity," the group's new double single "How Sweet" is set to be released on March 24th. Pre-sales for "How Sweet" will begin at 11 a.m. today, June 26, and the music video for the track "Bubble Gum" will premiere on June 27 at 0 a.m. "Bubble Gum" was partially released as the theme song for Fuji TV's morning broadcast program "Mezamashi 8" and a commercial for a Japanese shampoo on the 8th of this month. "Bubble Gum" is a song with a simple drum pattern and a cool pad synth sound that gives the song a refreshing charm unique to NewJeans. The refreshing visuals of the members in the CM and the song harmonized, raising fans' expectations for the new album.  [KOREA STAR Journal reporter Chris]
