LE SSERAFIM tops 'Show! Music Center'...with English song 'Perfect Night'

The group LE SSERAFIM has continued its meteoric rise to the top of the domestic music charts with its English song "Perfect Night" and won the Music Broadcasting Trophy.

LE SSERAFIM (Kim Chae Won, Sakura, Heo Yoon Jin, Kazuha, and Hong Eun Chae) took the top spot on MBC's "Show! Music Center" with their first English-language digital single "Perfect Night" on October 9. The song reached the top more than a month after its release (Oct. 27) without any on-air appearances.

Through his agency, SOS Music, Le Seraphim said, "I am grateful to have received my first music broadcast number one with 'Perfect Night'. I'm happy that many people loved the song even though it was released over a month ago. I hope you have a perfect year-end while listening to 'Perfect Night,' and I'm so grateful and loving to the people of Pierre (FEARNOT's fandom name)," he said in response to the award.

The song's popularity on the music charts played a big role in its rise to No. 1. The song continues to set a new record for K-pop girl groups by performing exceptionally well on the music charts, where English-language songs are relatively weak amid the comebacks of big artists.

"Perfect Night" took the top spot on the latest Mellon Weekly Chart (November 27-December 3), marking its second consecutive week at the top. This marks the first time that a K-pop female artist, individually or as a group, has topped the chart for two consecutive weeks with an English-language song. The song has also held the top spot on Melon's daily chart for 19 consecutive weeks (November 20-December 8).

"Perfect Night" also topped Circle Chart's latest weekly chart (48th week of 2023/collection period November 26-December 2) in both digital and streaming categories. After becoming the first English-language song by a K-pop girl group to sweep the top spots on Circle Chart's digital and streaming categories, LeSeraphim continues its record-breaking streak, holding the top spot for two consecutive weeks.
